Listing a home as For Sale by Owner (or FSBO) isn’t easy. In fact, even licensed Realtors may struggle to succeed in this pursuit when it comes to listing their own property without any extra professional help.

Setting the right price, navigating paperwork, and managing a strategic timeline can all be difficult if you aren’t able to view your home from an objective, non-emotional standpoint. It takes a high level of knowledge and experience to facilitate a real estate deal, true, but these things alone aren’t enough. You have to be able to think about your property as a commodity, which tends to be difficult for homeowners.

Even if you do everything in your power to put your home out in front of potential buyers, most FSBO sellers will find that the majority of buyers who show interest are just looking for a bargain. These buyers see the term “FSBO” attached to the listing and assume that the home will come at a steep discount.
